2. Open the lid — the light should flash amber.
3. Hold the setup button 15–30 seconds until the light flashes white.
4. Hold the open case near your unlocked iPhone and select “Connect.”

I was having intermittent issues with 1 earbud not charging, usually the left. After cleaning my old case, that left earbud would usually be able to connect again. Suddenly, the right earbud was not charging at all and not recognized at all. This went on for days, so I decided to try a "new" refurbished case, followed the enclosed instructions from Re-Cell, and I have two working earbuds again! Note to self & others: AirPods are not good earbuds for exercising if you sweat a lot. Make sure you wipe the earbuds clean after every workout an make sure they spend some time outside the case to dry.
