Pairing Your Replacement Sony Earbud or Case
Sony: select your exact model before initializing
Confirm both earbuds and the case are the same compatible model, and charge them before you begin. Factory resetting removes saved pairing information.
Initialization restores factory settings. Reset controls differ by model; follow only the section for your headset.
WF-1000XM5
- Place both earbuds in a charged case and leave the lid open.
- Hold the case initialization button for at least 15 seconds, until the orange indicator begins blinking.
- Release within 5 seconds of the orange blinking. Four green flashes confirm initialization.
- Remove the old Bluetooth pairing from your device, then pair again.
WF-1000XM4
- Put both earbuds in a charged case with the lid open.
- Touch and hold both earbud touch sensors for about 10 seconds, until the case indicator blinks red.
- Release both sensors within 5 seconds. Four green flashes confirm initialization.
- Delete the old Bluetooth pairing, then pair again.
WF-C500
- Hold the buttons on both earbuds for about 15 seconds, until their orange indicators start blinking.
- Release within 5 seconds; the orange indicators will remain lit.
- Within 10 seconds, press and hold both earbud buttons again. Four blue flashes confirm initialization.
- Remove the old Bluetooth pairing and pair again.
LinkBuds S
- Place both earbuds in a charged case and leave the lid open.
- Hold the case initialization button for at least 15 seconds, until the orange indicator begins blinking.
- Release within 5 seconds of the orange blinking. Four green flashes confirm initialization.
- Remove the old Bluetooth pairing from your device, then pair again.
If initialization does not complete or the replacement still does not pair, contact us before assuming the part is defective.
